Star Wars? Hell Yes!

In an effort to replace my long gone Battlefleet Gothic fix, I've decided to take a dive into X-Wing. I got a few games in at my new game store hang-out, Draxtar Games, the other night. I have to say, so far, badass. The game moves quickly and is pretty deadly. The rules are fast to grasp, but slow to master. I might *gasp* even try playing in tourneys.

The ships are pre-painted and look nice. Add in the fact that it's Star Wars and "Boom"... gateway drug! Look out friends and neighbors, time to play a miniature game!

Game Room, Part 4

Home stretch achieved! Here is my final (?) game room post...

First, vinyl floor.

Oh lovely!

Now, I skipped the picture taking for the door hanging step, mainly because I found that just having two hands wasn't enough for the door. I really couldn't spare one to hold the camera... but, they open and close. So suck it doors... I win!

After the doors were  defeated, time to decorate!

That's it for now in the game room. Once my bar is built I'll move a lot of this sports stuff out there. I'm thinking about painting a Blood Angels badge on the wall. Maybe a Khador or Khorne icon... who knows.

Game Room, Part 3

Now that I've defeated the evil "Drywall Monster", I can move onto something I'm better at... putting red paint on things.

As you can tell, this is my forte.

Boom. Room painted.

Once again, my assistant brings his unique contributions to painting.

Game Room, Part 2

Well, the fun with the hammer and the nail gun is done. Time for walls!

First panel done!

Cruising along!

Well... now comes the part where I skip about a week.

Taping and sanding drywall? WORST JOB EVER! I will gladly pay to have this done next time.

Opps... what do these buttons do again?

I guess I didn't set up the auto-update thing correctly. So, I guess it's time to play catch-up.

Game Room, Part 1

The best thing about buying a new house is getting to add your own personal touch to the space. For me, that means a game room!

We start with this...

Add some framing...

 Fill in the gaps...

 Build a work table...

Build the gaming table...

 Add an amazing anniversary present...

Looking good...

That's enough for one day, part two coming soon!

None of this would have been accomplished without my helper of course!

Eldar rise again... (for the third time)

Well, Eldar got a new codex recently, so I decided it was time to finish them. A little background first...

I started this army while gaming at Tactics in East Providence. This was my 3rd army and my first non-power armor army. I originally started them as a Saim-Hann jet bike army, using the Codex: Craftworld book. Since I already had a Blood Angels (red) and Khorne (red) army, I decided not to paint them a standard (red) scheme. Hence the birth of my Orange and Blue army. These guys have floundered through 2 new updates since I originally started them, but now it's time to finish them up.

First up will be my Forgeworld Avatar.

Here's Mr. Liquid Hot Magma...

A close up of the face...

I tried some blending on the sword...

And on the tabard...

I still need to seal him and then gloss the gemstones, but the weather has been lousy, so that has to wait.

The base is by Micro Arts Studios. It painted up quite nicely and I'm happy with the blue effect on the stones.
